My Toolset

I bring nearly two decades of experience in a wide area of fields—from assessing community needs and programming to delivering and facilitating adult-focused learning curriculum and organizational development. In the course of my work as a Research Associate at The Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity and as a independent consultant, I have worked alongside a variety of partners such as The Columbus and Franklin County Local Food Board, United Way of Central Ohio, John’s Hopkins’ Center for A Livable Future, The Statewide Racial Equity Coalition of Michigan, Delta Gamma Fraternity, Inc, and the City of Columbus Department of Health, and Worthington Libraries.

  • While at Kirwan and in my consultancy, I’ve partnered with non-profits, community leaders, and local governments by bringing cutting edge research and national best practices to bear to address local challenges through program development, evaluation and knowledge building through instructional workshops and curricula.

  • I have developed and facilitated over 200 training workshops and presentations for organizations ranging from corporate, public sector, non-profit, and community groups related to topics such as community outreach, workplace wellness, program development, and interpersonal communication.

  • I have also co-developed and facilitated multi-stage capacity building learning programs for a wide range of partners and have been co-designing and facilitating the Near East Side Neighborhood Leadership Academy since 2020.

  • I’m also an author! I have contributed to a number of both research and public-facing publications, notably authoring The Principles for Equitable and Inclusive Civic Engagement:  A Guide to Transformative Change, Kirwan’s keystone publication regarding racially equitable civic engagement for non-profit and governmental agencies.

  • I am a two time graduate of The Ohio State University, having received a MSW from the College of Social Work and a B.S in City and Regional Planning from the Knowlton School of Architecture, as well as receiving an A.S in Geography from Columbus State Community College.
